Borzoni’s operas include:
Margot Alone in the Light (2009) with librettist Emily Conbere, based on Ray Bradbury’s short story All Summer in a day, which was premiered by operamission and subsequently produced by Opera on Tap.
Cycle (2011) with librettist Tony Asaro, which was performed by the American Lyric Theater at Symphony Space as part of the Composer Librettist Development Program.
Antinous and Hadrian (2012) with librettist Edward Ficklin, which was performed by the American Opera Projects, operamission, LA MaMa, and the Queer Urban Orchestra.
When Adonis Calls (2014) with librettist John De Los Santos, based on the poetry of Gavin Dillard, which was presented in Fort Worth Opera’s Frontiers 2015 Showcase, the 2017 New Works Forum at Opera America, Asheville Lyric Opera, and Thompson Street Opera.
The Copper Queen (in progress) with librettist John De Los Santos, which was the winner of Arizona Opera’s commissioning initiative, Arizona Spark. Excerpts of the opera were also presented at the Morgan Library and Museum by the American Lyric Theater, and at the National Opera Center. The 2021 world premiere will be a motion picture film produced by Arizona Opera and Manley Films.
